E-Governance in India evolved from computerization in Government Departments along with initiatives that encapsulated finer nuances of governance, citizen centricity, service orientation and transparency. The GATI (Green and Accessible Transport In India), under the aegis of The Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of India, is an interactive and user friendly dashboard facilitating streamlined project monitoring, supports cross referencing and aids decision making in the domain of urban transport.
The dashboard presents the full picture with information aligned to gain the insight into urban transport in India and is in line with the PM’s Gati Shakti plan, which intends to give a new direction to the development of infrastructure through holistic planning, implementation and monitoring. GATI also provides an information and data repository of updated transportation statistics presented as a snapshot and to be used to identify potential needs and opportunities, and coordinate interventions for sustainable mobility.
