City Bus Services (CBS) are the economical choice with flexibility in route selection and reach, ease in deployment and are at the core of Public Transport systems in all cities. The modal share of bus transport is up to 40% in large cities such as Delhi, Bangalore etc. In cities where public transport is inadequate, privately owned transport and para transit modes meet the travel demand and resultant proliferation of vehicles results in congestion, delays, with safety and health concerns. Post the adoption of the NUTP 2006, several cities in India have accelerated the urban bus service adoption and the modal shift is to city buses is significant.
